An Extended Trip to Sydney – the World’s Most Fulfilling City!

Sydney!!! After a long wait, all the stories, and all the anticipation, I am finally in the city that has come to represent Australia all over the world! Did it live up to my expectations, you ask? Well, it did that and much more! The city is incredible. We all know that. It is filled to brim with several spectacular architectural marvels. We know that too. But what escapes the PR gimmicks and tourism propelling machinery is the sense of fulfilment that is generated while being in this city. In that way, Sydney is like India. Not that there is much similarity between the physical attractions of the regions. It seems life at both these places seem complete!

Sydney can be many things at the same time. The food here is mind blowing. Don’t be surprised if in times to come Sydney actually overtakes NYC as the global food capital. The variety of cuisines available here is unbelievable but what really makes the day is the authenticity of the fare served. Be it Chinese, Indian, Thai, Continental or Mexican, a huge number of restaurants are there to take care of the culinary cravings of locals and tourists.

Shopper’s paradise is another moniker for Sydney. Shoppers who are boarding flights to the city will be left grinning from ear to ear after having a go at the city’s various retail hubs. I am not much of a shopping freak, as I must have mentioned earlier, but the place truly has something for everyone.

Similarly, the city’s nightlife is charismatic too. Young people who are boarding Sydney bound flights looking for nothing but a good party will never be disappointed.

The beach life in Sydney is perhaps the best in the country. Beaches like Bondi have been acting like magnets for keen beachcombers, tempting them over and over again.

And of course, then there is the never ending list of attractions which is perhaps the most prolific for any single city in the world. Opera House, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Taronga Zoo, Sydney Cricket Ground and Wonderland Sydney are just few of the many attractions that await tourists who invest on flight tickets to get here. I have been to most of them and have plans to cover few more in days to follow.

Sydney is truly a city with a world within. I have ended up extending my stay in this Australian city by a few days. There could well be another extension, you never know! For me, Sydney has been the most compete of holiday destinations I have visited thus far. It brings the world to you, all neat and clean. It may not offer the truest picture of the world but it sure offers the most entertaining one.
